Creativity, Culture, and Learning: A Conversation with Questlove

When: April 12, 2pm — 4pm

Where: The Science Center (Lecture Hall D), 1 Oxford St, Cambridge, MA 02138

Since the first tweet and the first maker faire, the Grassroots Creator (or Maker) Movement has emerged as a remarkable force that shapes new modes of learning in a world that has been reshaped by human creative engagement.  In this exciting context, the music artist and co-founder of The Roots, Questlove, will appear on campus to discuss his recent manifesto on creating, culture and learning — Creative Quest — and what it means to the future.  Questlove’s visit coincides with a growing presence of maker activity on campus and integration of humanities and the arts in the learning of engineering, design and science.  This public seminar will give the Harvard community and broader public a chance to hear from Questlove and discover the growing role of creativity and culture in the learning of tomorrow on and off campus.  Co-sponsored by The Cultural Agents Initiative via its seminar series Keyword and the Paulson School of Engineering & Applied Sciences.
