Arts & Leadership
Leaders today not only want to change the world but are obliged to do so. Among their potential resources for positive change are the arts, an often untapped wealth of techniques and approaches. Our Initiative invites students, faculty, and other agents of social change to explore the exciting relationship between Arts and Leadership. Associates learn to view the world through the eyes of performing and visual artists and thereby to enhance a capacity for co-creating an emerging future. This cross-disciplinary approach takes advantage of aesthetic surprise to refresh and to reframe stagnant social conditions in order to promote dynamic responses which can add significant innovation to leadership's toolkit. Arts and Leadership facilitates courses in partnership with Harvard's Center for Public Leadership among other institutions. We also host workshops, conferences, and help to broker practical engagements.
